Wireless Repeater (IPC Router) Quick Guide

The wireless repeater is a security-dedicated router independently developed for security applications (formerly known as IPC Router). It has two main functions: wireless repeater and IPC router.
- Cascades wireless cameras and a wireless NVR through the wireless signal, extending the coverage of the wireless kit.
- Turns a wireless IP camera into a wired connection to a wired NVR, providing a flexible wireless solution.

1. Features
The wireless repeater is a security-dedicated router independently developed for the application of the security field (former name: IPC router). It mainly has two functions: wireless repeater and IPC router.
- Cascades the wireless camera and the wireless NVR through the wireless signal, extending the coverage of the wireless kit.
- Turns the wireless IP camera into a wired connection to the wired NVR to provide a flexible wireless solution.

Match Code / Reset Button
- Press and hold 3 s (3 s < T < 10 s), then release — Enters match-code-to-IP-camera mode. All IPCAM status lights flash simultaneously.
- Press and hold 10 s (T > 10 s), then release — Enters wireless match-code-to-NVR mode. The NVR status light flashes quickly.

4. Wireless Repeater Function Settings
When an IPC router is used as a wireless repeater on a wireless NVR, there are two ways to add it.
4.1 Wireless Match Code
Press and hold the Reset/Sync button for 10 seconds, then release to enter wireless match-code-to-NVR mode. The NVR status light will flash quickly.
Place the wireless repeater within 1 meter of the NVR while powered on (no network cable needed). The IPC router will automatically match code to the NVR.
When the NVR status light turns steady on, the connection is successful.
4.2 Network Cable Pairing
Connect the IPC router and the NVR with a network cable. Search for the IPC router on the video management interface, and double-click "router" in the list. Click the "Match Code" button to pair the IPC router to the wireless NVR, as shown below.

4.3 Wireless Repeater Settings
Description of repeater setting interface
Repeater supports both auto repeater and manual repeater. Right-click → Video Management → Repeater Settings to enter the repeater settings interface. On this page you can view the repeater and repeater topology diagrams and configure the repeater.
In the interface:
- NVR — this wireless NVR
- CHx-Auto — cameras that support auto repeater
- CHx — cameras that support manual repeater only (x = camera channel number)
- RPx-Auto — repeater that supports wireless repeater
- router — repeater that supports manual relay only (x = serial number of repeater)
There is an "Auto Repeater" switch in the upper-right corner of the repeater setting interface. It is off by default and can be turned on by the user according to actual needs.

4.4 Wireless Repeater Use
When the repeater and camera on the repeater setting interface display "RPx-Auto" and "CHx-Auto", the repeater and camera support wireless repeater. The wireless repeater does not need to be configured manually.
If camera CH1 is too far away to connect to the NVR, place a wireless repeater at a reasonable position between the camera and the recorder, as shown below:

To use a wireless repeater, the repeater must first be paired to the wireless NVR. Press and hold the wireless repeater for 10 seconds. When the NVR status light flashes quickly, it will automatically pair with the NVR without any action when approaching the wireless NVR. After successful pairing, the NVR status light is always on.

4.5 Manual Repeater Settings
After the IPC router is paired to the wireless NVR (unplug the network cable), search for the IPC router on the video management interface (see Fig 4.2). Place the wireless camera that needs to connect to the IPC router near the NVR.
Enter the repeater settings interface: right-click → Video Management → Cascading Settings. Click the "+" button on the back of the router, add the corresponding wireless camera to the channel on the IPC router, and click "Apply" to complete the setup.

5. IPC Router Function and Operation
5.1 Wired Matching Code
Wireless camera with network port: Connect the IPC router and wireless camera with a network cable and power on.
Pure wireless camera: Power on the camera in wireless match-code mode and place it next to the IPC router.
Press and hold the "Reset/Sync" button on the IPC router for 3 seconds, then release to enter match-code mode. All IPCAM status indicators will flash simultaneously. When all indicators stop flashing, matching is complete. If successful, the IPCAM light will turn on.
When you need to add multiple wireless cameras at once, connect them through a switch as shown below:

Note
Two IPC routers cannot be connected to the same switch for matching code. The second camera will catch the first paired camera's connection.

5.2 Connect NVR Through N1
After matching code successfully, use a network cable to connect the router and NVR. Right-click → Video Management → Refresh to search for the wireless IPC and IP address of the router (router IP defaults to 192.168.1.198). Click "One Key Add" or "Add" to add the wireless IPC to the NVR. If devices appear in different subnets, use "One Key Add".

In the searching result of Video Management, double-click "router" to enter the IPC router management interface. You can check the IPC router information and change the Wi-Fi channel.

6. FAQ
Q: When several IPC routers are installed at the same location and wireless cameras are very close to the IPC router (only about 10 meters away), the image is very slow and cameras go offline frequently. What is happening?
A: This is caused by co-channel interference when several IPC routers share the same Wi-Fi channel. There are 4 non-interfering Wi-Fi channels: 1, 6, 11, and other. If there are 4 IPC routers at the same location, set each to a different non-overlapping channel (1, 6, 11, other). IPC routers with the same Wi-Fi channel should be placed as far apart as possible with no coverage overlap. IPC routers are not recommended for use in densely populated areas.

Warning — Risk of Electric Shock
Do not open the device. Risk of electric shock. Only qualified professionals should perform internal maintenance.
Warning — Power Supply Voltage
Do not use a power supply higher than DC 12V. Using a higher voltage creates risk of fire and electric shock.
